Buying and selling safely
Karvedo lists inventory offered by independent sellers. We do not inspect vehicles, hold funds, or guarantee any transaction. What follows is what actually protects you.
Payment
- Never send money by gift card, cryptocurrency, wire transfer or a payment app to someone you have not met. These are chosen by scammers because they cannot be reversed.
- A seller who insists on an unusual payment method, or who wants to move the conversation off the platform immediately, is showing you something useful.
- No deposit is safe on a vehicle you have not seen. “I will ship it” from a seller you cannot verify is the oldest scam in this market.
Your account
- Nobody at Karvedo will ever ask for your password or a verification code. Anyone who does is attacking your account.
- A code you did not request means someone has your password. Change it, and sign out of all devices from your security settings.
Meeting and inspecting
- Meet in daylight, in a public place, and bring someone with you.
- Check that the VIN on the vehicle matches the VIN on the title, and that the name on the title matches the person selling it.
- A price far below the market is not a lucky find. It is the hook.
What our labels mean
- Seller Reported
- The seller told us. We have not checked it.
- Platform Verified
- Someone here checked it against supporting evidence.
- VIN Verified
- Decoded from the VIN by a decoding service rather than typed in by a person. No decoding service is connected yet, so nothing on this site currently carries this label. It is listed here so the word means the same thing when it starts appearing.
- Dealer / Business Verified
- A licence or registration was checked by platform staff.
If a listing carries no verification badge, nothing on it has been verified. We will never blur these together to make a listing look better.
